5351 Carpinteria Ave. A Partnership In Striving for Excellence and Modeling Respect Happy Summer! We are eagerly preparing for the 2013-14 school year. If you look on the calendar below. You will find the dates in the month of August for student registration packet pick-up and registration dates. For the upcoming school year, we have some changes. Instead of leadership for 8th graders, we are now offering Spanish. Students who successfully complete the year-long course will earn high school credit. If you are the parent of an interested 8th grader, please email me or Ms. Romero and we will put you on the list for enrollment. We do have our CST scores in for this school year. We performed better than ever in all content areas. I believe we made adequate yearly progress in all areas. Our API should improve to over 800 (which has been our goal). More data will be coming in over the summer. Our focus on academic achievement is paying off! Great job, teachers. Similarly, we have our results from the California Healthy Kids Survey. Our results continue to improve and be better than most schools. Our students feel safer and make much safer choices than the average Californian middle school student. I will post those results soon. We offer a hearty welcome to all the new families of our Carpinteria Middle School community, and we remind you that it is our shared efforts that will guarantee this school year to be the best one ever! We have an exciting path ahead, and we hope you all look forward to the adventure. Mr. Merritt |
